Privacy Policy

Last updated: August 22, 2026

This policy explains what Gickr.com collects when you make an animated GIF here, why we collect it, and what you can do about it.

1. What we collect

Pictures and videos you upload
Stored on our server so we can build your animation, and so the resulting GIF stays reachable at its link.
The animations you create
Kept on our server and served at a link that is not indexed but is not secret either — anyone with the link can open it.
Technical data
Your IP address, browser type and the pages you request end up in ordinary server logs. We use them to run and troubleshoot the site and to stop abuse.
Session cookie
A single cookie keeps track of your upload while you are working on it. It is required for the site to function and holds no personal profile.

We do not ask for your name, address or payment details, and we have no user accounts.

2. How we use it

Only to provide the service: to generate your animation, to serve it back to you, to keep the site running, and to prevent abuse. We do not sell your data, and we do not use your pictures to train anything.

3. Analytics

We use a privacy-friendly, cookieless analytics service to count page views. It records no personal data, sets no cookies and does not follow you across other websites.

4. Advertising

Advertising is currently switched off on Gickr.com. Should we enable it again, ad slots would be served by Google AdSense, which may set its own cookies or use device identifiers to show and measure ads. This section will be updated before that happens, and you would be able to manage those choices through Google Ad Settings.

5. Retention

Uploaded source files and generated animations remain on our servers while the service keeps them available, and may be removed at any time as space is reclaimed. Server logs are kept only as long as needed for operations and security.

6. Sharing

We share nothing with third parties except our hosting provider, which stores the data on our behalf, and where we are required to by law.

7. Children

Gickr.com is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their personal data. If you believe a child has uploaded material here, contact us and we will remove it.

8. Your choices

You can ask us to delete a specific animation or upload: send the link to stwinnie@gmail.com and we will remove it. You can also block cookies in your browser, though the uploader needs the session cookie to work.

9. Changes

We may update this policy. The version published on this page is the current one.
